The aim of this thesis is the investigation of a fault-diagnosis-based misuse and intrusion detection for the described HiL System. For this the system needs to be extended with a suitable fault diagnosis system. Therefore typical faults in industrial processes will be investigated and add to the simulated three-tank-system. Additionally a suitable fault diagnosis method will be implemented to detect the most important faults and will be verified with simulation results. In a second step the usability for intrusion detection of this fault diagnosis will be examined. Therefore possible attacks will be investigated and a suitable concept will be developed, including the classical fault diagnosis and the intrusion detection. For this purpose it might be possible to find a good combination of state of the art software and self-implemented algorithms. Finally the concept will be appropriately evaluated.
